gracias, gracias, gracias!

friday the 16th is my birthday! that's right. i'm a scorpio girl . tonight i got home from work, walking up the echoing staircase while yammering on my phone and awkwardly carrying two unwieldy bags, to find a box leaning against my door. the return address read beavis in kittery point, maine, a package from two of the best people i know! here's the box, not too long afterwards:

and here's what was carefully and meticulously swaddled inside of it:

another beavis original! what an awesome gift. then again, tim and hanna are always giving me spectacular gifts. when i went to costa rica with md for two months, tim and hanna gave us burt's bees travel-sized salves and ointments that turned out to be ridiculously helpful when confronted with the steamy rain forest and its equally wild oceanic environs; when we moved across the country, tim and hanna gave us a portsmouth health food cloth bag, which we use every week at a farmer's market, and it was stuffed full of nuts and snacks for our imminent multi-day drive. and, like the box i just tore into in a matter of minutes, those snacks went way too quickly in the midst of our sojourn! poof.
